Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Slideparty.app (“Slideparty”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), operated by Lab 37, Entrepreneur individuel, operated by William BRISA, registered under SIREN 988 777 744 (France). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Slideparty.app website, software, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service in any way — including browsing the website, creating an account, joining a party, creating slides, presenting, voting, or using voice chat — you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Any player or user accessing the website or participating in a party implicitly accepts these Terms.
2. Description of Service
Slideparty.app is a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform designed to facilitate multiplayer presentation party games. Key features include:
- Creating and joining virtual party rooms
- A browser-based slide editor with layout templates, image search (via Unsplash), GIF/meme/sticker search (via Klipy), custom fonts, and colors
- Live presentation sync across all participants in real time
- Peer-to-peer (P2P) voice chat powered by WebRTC
- Three-axis voting (Original, Well Presented, Hilarious) with scoring and leaderboard
- AI-powered topic generation
- Party management with invite codes, QR codes, and share links
3. Beta Service and Future Changes
You acknowledge that the Service may be offered in a beta or early-access phase and is currently provided free of charge. Slideparty reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. Slideparty reserves the right to introduce fees for the use of the Service or certain features in the future, including through a third-party payment provider (currently planned: Polar.sh). Continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
4. User Accounts and Authentication
To access certain features, you may need to create an account. Authentication is handled by Clerk, a third-party authentication provider. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Your email address will not be visible to other users within the Service. Authorized administrators of Slideparty will have access to user email addresses for administrative, support, and communication purposes. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
5. User Conduct and Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for your conduct and any data, text, images, presentations, voice communications, or other content (“User Content”) that you submit, post, display, or transmit via the Service. You agree to:
- Respect other users and refrain from harassment, abuse, or discriminatory behavior.
- Not submit any illegal, harmful, offensive, or infringing content.
- Not enter sensitive personal information, personally identifiable information (PII), financial data, passwords, or confidential information in any text field, slide, topic, or voice exchange. The content created within the Service cannot be considered secure.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Not attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the Service.
6. Voice Chat and User-Generated Content
The Service includes peer-to-peer (P2P) voice chat functionality powered by WebRTC. Voice communications travel directly between participants' browsers and are not routed through, recorded, or stored by Slideparty servers. Slideparty acts solely as a signaling server to establish the P2P connection.
Slideparty is not responsible for the content of voice exchanges between users, nor for any User Content created within the Service. Users are solely responsible for what they say and create during party sessions.
7. Content Security Disclaimer
The content created, shared, and displayed within the Service (including slides, images, text, and topics) cannot be considered secure. Content may be visible to all participants in a party room and to Slideparty administrators. Users should not input any personally identifiable information (PII), confidential data, or sensitive information into the Service.
8. Intellectual Property and Content Ownership
Service Ownership: Slideparty retains all rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including all related intellectual property rights.
AI-Generated Topics: Topics generated by the AI features become the property of Slideparty upon generation. Slideparty reserves the right to reuse generated topics for any purpose, including marketing and public display.
User-Created Content: Topics manually entered by users and slides created by users remain the intellectual property of their creators. By creating content within the Service, you grant Slideparty a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, and display such content solely for the purposes of operating, improving, and promoting the Service. You represent and warrant that your content does not infringe the rights of any third party.
Third-Party Content: Images sourced from Unsplash and GIFs/stickers sourced from Klipy are subject to their respective terms of service and licenses. Users are responsible for complying with those terms.
Third-Party Trademarks: PowerPoint® is a registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation. Any reference to third-party trademarks is for descriptive purposes only and does not imply affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.
9. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
The AI topic generation feature provides suggestions based on algorithms. Generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, biases, or unexpected outputs. Slideparty makes no representations or warranties regarding the quality, suitability, or originality of AI-generated content.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. There is no guarantee of uptime, reliability, data retention, or functionality.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law (including French law and EU regulations), Slideparty, Lab 37, its operator, affiliates, and administrators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service, including voice chat exchanges; (c) any content obtained from the Service, including AI-generated topics; or (d) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
11. Modifications to Terms
Slideparty reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on the website and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Termination
Slideparty may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of France, in accordance with Articles 42 and 46 of the French Code of Civil Procedure, and in compliance with Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 (Brussels I bis) for EU residents.
